About

The French Residence is a large detached, five storey, Grade II Listed building, located on Crown land adjacent to Kensington Palace Gardens, London. Originally constructed circa 1852-54, with extensive improvements undertaken in the 1990s.

Scope

In response to the UK governments Net Zero target by 2050, the French Embassy appointed Consult Sustainability to undertake a study of the French Residence, to develop a decarbonisation plan, identifying the feasibility of reducing energy demand and CO 2 emissions through fabric improvements, efficiency measures and replacement of the existing fossil fuel reliant heating and hot water system with low carbon alternatives.
